Vadodara: The body of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) attached to the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) unit of Godhra in Panchmahal district was found on Sunday morning. The body was found near the compound of the GEB power house located near Panam dam. The deceased was identified as Kisan Ranchod Bhuriya (47), a native of Boriya village.
His elder brother, Kanu Ranchod Bhuriya, submitted an application stating that around 6am on Sunday the cop left their home at Boriya village, informing the family that he was going to attend his duties at Godhra. Around 9am, the complainant received a call informing him that Kisan Bhuriya's body was found in a pool of blood inside the compound of the GEB power house located next to Panam dam. The complainant stated that he was informed by the the power house security guard who heard a sudden sound and then reached the spot where Bhuriya's body was found lying.
The body was taken to Shehra Civil Hospital, where the cop was declared dead. Police sources said prima facie it seemed that the cop committed suicide by jumping from the building of the power house. The body was sent for postmortem to ascertain the cause of the death.
