Ashland artist, author slated to discuss coal-region themed work at city library on Saturday

SHAMOKIN — Ashland resident Bob McCormick will visit the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library, 210 E. Independence St., Shamokin, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday to discuss his latest self-published book, “Reclamation: From Coal Dust to Hope.”

m. to noon on Saturday to discuss his latest self-published book, “Reclamation: From Coal Dust to Hope.” The book features a collection of essays, poems and watercolor or acrylic paintings that reflect his and his family’s lives as they grew up in the anthracite region as it approached “its prime,” McCormick, 72, said.
