Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed the secret behind his daily health drink that powers his protein intake, intriguing fans with an atypical concoction. Speaking to Men's Health about maintaining his physique post-heart surgery in 2020 , the "Terminator" star unwrapped details of his diet and exercise plan. Even at 77 years old, the Austrian powerhouse and ex-governor remains a figure of fitness, committing to daily workouts and a diet rich in fruit and veg.

Yet, it's his homemade protein beverage that captured attention—with ingredients like almond milk, cherry juice, and a banana being joined by an entire egg, shell included. Schwarzenegger explained his simple yet quirky recipe : "This is how I make my protein drink - there's nothing special about it. I just put almond milk - just a little bit - and tart cherry juice for muscle soreness.

Then you go in with a banana, and a whole egg. And I like to go in with the whole egg," he disclosed. He humorously suggested that his unique protein fix could be sold virtually anywhere, saying, "Now, this drink you could literally sell at any health bar, or any other bar for that matter.

I sometimes put in Schnapps or tequila." Despite the bizarre mixture, including an eggshell—which may seem unconventional—there's nutritional wisdom at play. Eggshells are rich in calcium carbonate and provide proteins and minerals to bolster the immune system, reports The Mirror US.

In fact, consuming just half an eggshell can fulfill the recommended daily intake of calcium. The eggshell membrane, rich in collagen protein, might be a boon for joint health, but not everyone's on board with the idea. Skeptics have voiced their doubts online, with one commenter remarking: "A whole egg shell - only the Terminator would do this!" Another expressed concerns about potential health side effects, while a third humorously cautioned: "That egg is going to hurt on the way out," A fourth person also showed apprehension, saying: "Olla! Idol.

My concern would be the egg shell cuz he might get his stomach wounded." In a video that gave fans a peek inside his fridge—stocked with everything from eggs and beef to grapes, strawberries, greens, blackberries, and his beloved watermelon—Schwarzenegger shared insights into his dietary habits: "I'm health conscious now. I wasn't always health conscious because when you are young, you get away with a lot of things.

Now I eat more oatmeal, greens, vegetables, and healthy foods." The Hollywood icon and former Mr. Olympia has shifted his diet away from meats and animal products, debunking the myth that they're essential for strength: "I stay away more from meats, animal products, animal proteins - because there is this misconception that that is the only way to get big and strong.

Now I've backed off that, and I feel much better being more on greens." Schwarzenegger also touched on his supplement use, clarifying that he treats them as an addition to an already nutritious diet rather than a sole source of nutrients. He maintains his fitness regime with daily workouts and a 45-minute bike ride each morning.

He has since reduced the amount of exceptionally heavy weights he lifts, following his doctor's advice after undergoing aortic valve re-replacement surgery in 2020. He also occasionally enjoys evening workouts and indulges in cheat days. "Cheat days come up quite frequently.

The key thing is to remember that for every calorie you eat, you will have to burn it off - nobody is going to do it for you," he remarked. "Of course I cook too. My favourite thing to cook is a fillet steak.

My bodybuilding friends come over but they won't eat the delicious food because they all want to look like me - but it's never going to happen!"..
