Arms, ammo recovered from Reasi forest

Security forces recovered a stash of arms and ammunition, including four AK-47 magazines and 268 rounds, from a forest in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was launched by Reasi Police and CRPF’s 126Bn after receiving specific inputs. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

The recovery included four AK-47 magazines, 268 rounds of AK-47, four UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher) grenades and four IED batteries. “On receiving specific inputs, a joint team of Reasi Police and CRPF’s 126Bn launched a search operation in the forest of Jamslan area in Mahore sub-division in the district.

The troops found a stash of arms and ammunition, wrapped in a blanket and hidden under a tree, in Simbli area,” an official said. A case was registered and further investigation was underway, police said..
