Armed police at Stoke-on-Trent woodland over 'man with machete'

Armed police were sent to a Potteries woodland over reports of a 'man with a machete'. But today police say officers who attended the scene in T rentham discovered a rough sleeper with a 'small hatchet in a tool kit'. Firearms officers had been sent to Longton Road at around 1.

35pm on Monday afternoon. Today Staffordshire Police has said the rough sleeper found has been 'referred to partners' to help get him support. A spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of a man with a machete in woodland on Longton Road, Trentham.
