Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU), in partnership with the University of Derby, hosted the annual International Panel of Experts (IPoE) Forum organised by THE-ICE (International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education). The forum, which was held from November 7 to 10, brought together global leaders in tourism, hospitality, and education on ARIU’s campus in the vibrant city of Doha. The forum was officially inaugurated by Gienke Osinga, chair of THE-ICE Board of Directors, who commented, “It is a great honour to bring together such a distinguished group of experts, educators, and industry leaders at THE-ICE IPoE Forum.

This event is a cornerstone of our efforts to drive quality and innovation in tourism and hospitality education globally. I am confident that the discussions here will inspire new approaches and partnerships that will shape the future of our field.” Dr.



Mazen Hasna, chair of Qatar’s National Committee for Qualifications and Academic Accreditation, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing Qatar’s dedication to high standards in education. He emphasised: We are all in this together, committed to serving our students, our communities, and humanity at large. Improvement does not require being flawed; there is always an opportunity to take a step forward.

In this emerging era, bringing value and impact in line with your mission requires simplicity and focus. Organizations like NCQAA and similar entities act as your critical friends, aiming to help and support rather than to hinder or control Mona El Helbawi, general manager of ARIES Group, remarked, ‘As part of the ARIES Group, we are committed to advancing education to empower future leaders. Hosting THE-ICE IPoE Forum 2024 at ARIU’s campus represents a shared dedication to elevating standards and fostering global collaboration in tourism and hospitality education.

’ Dr. Ivan Ninov, executive dean of ARIU in partnership with the University of Derby, warmly welcomed the attendees, saying, “We are honoured to host the THE-ICE International Panel of Experts Forum 2024 for the first time in Qatar, and it is a privilege to welcome you to our campus and to the vibrant city of Doha. This gathering marks a milestone for ARIU as we host this esteemed forum for the first time.

Since our founding almost 25 years ago by H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, ARIU has specialized in business-related degrees in tourism, hospitality, and international business studies, with a steadfast commitment to enhancing quality in higher education.

As Qatar’s first private university, we have spent over two decades refining our educational offerings” The forum’s agenda included keynote addresses, expert panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at fostering a global dialogue on educational quality enhancement in tourism and hospitality.
