Area volleyball roundup for Oct. 25: Bridgewater-Emery races past Sanborn Central/Woonsocket

FORESTBURG, S.D. — Led by Oakley Weber’s triple-double, Bridgewater-Emery volleyball raced past Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in a Class B volleyball matchup on Friday night in straight sets.

Set scores were 25-23, 25-22, and 25-19. Weber recorded the second-most kills on the night for either side with 10 kills for the Huskies. She also finished with 19 set assists to lead all players and was second only to teammate Maizey Strombeck with 15 digs on defense.



ADVERTISEMENT Strombeck recorded 17 digs and a pair of service aces. Hayden Hofer led B-E with 13 kills and 11 assists, and Aleigha Kroger picked up two aces. Jennalyn Zulk, Summer Koch, and Reese Meyer-Bublitz all had a blocked shot.

For the Blackhawks, Addison Bartholow had nine kills and Alexa Goertz tallied six kills and two blocks. McKenzie Schley netted 14 assists and Kali Hofer finished with 10 assists and 10 digs. Tatiana Roberts recorded a pair of aces for the game.

Bridgewater-Emery (17-4) heads home for its final two matches of the regular season, beginning with Centerville on Monday, Oct. 28, in Emery. SCW (16-9) faces Howard on the road also on Monday.
