GRAND FORKS — Fargo North scored the game’s first four goals and defeated Grand Forks Central in an Eastern Dakota Conference game on Thursday. North’s Aden Nojang scored on a long run, picking the ball up at midfield, racing through the Central defense and scoring from about 15 yards out with just more than 37 minutes left in the first half. North’s Matthew Haugo made it 2-0 with about 14 minutes left in the first, stealing a pass about 40 yards out and scoring from about 15 yards out.

Nojang made it 3-0 just before halftime, scoring on a penalty kick. The Spartans’ Lucas Knopp scored a second-half goal and Central’s Dalvin Samuel broke up the shutout with a goal with about four minutes remaining. North’s Benet Meyer had two assists.



North is 3-5-3 in the EDC and overall. Central is 0-9-2 in the EDC and 1-10-2 overall. FARGO — Fargo Davies and Grand Forks Red River played to a draw in an Eastern Dakota Conference game on Thursday.

After a scoreless first half, Grand Forks Red River got on the board in the 58th minute when Brody Andrade controlled a loose ball and punched in a shot from about 10 yards out. But Davies struck back less than a minute later when Leon Hidanovic scored on a penalty kick in the 59th minute. Red River is now 4-3-4 in the EDC and 6-4-4 overall.

Davies is 7-2-2 in the EDC and overall. WEST FARGO — Eastern Dakota Conference-leading West Fargo defeated Fargo Shanley on Thursday. Shanley is now 2-9-0 in the EDC and 3-10-0 overall.

West Fargo improved to 8-0-3 in the EDC and 8-1-3 overall. FARGO — West Fargo Sheyenne and Fargo South battled to a tie in an Eastern Dakota Conference game on Thursday. West Fargo Sheyenne scored the first goal of the game in the 27th minute when Adam Schmidt converted on a penalty kick.

South tied it less than two minutes later. Sheyenne is 5-3-3 in the EDC and 6-3-3 overall. South is 5-3-3 in the EDC and 6-4-3 overall.

MOORHEAD — Bemidji’s Reed Johnson scored a goal and also assisted on an Austin Riewer goal as the Lumberjacks defeated Moorhead on Thursday. The Lumberjacks’ Lincoln Schmitt assisted on Johnson’s goal. Bemidji outshot the Spuds 13-3.

Bemidji is now 5-2-1 overall. Moorhead is 3-6-2 overall. GRAND FORKS — Talyn Hoffert had 16 kills to lead Fargo South to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 Eastern Dakota Conference volleyball victory against Grand Forks Central on Thursday.

Alayna Kloeckner added nine kills and Jayden Hovland had seven kills for the Bruins. Mara Whiting had 34 assists and Amelia Hawley had 27 digs. Fargo South improves to 2-3 in EDC points and 8-3 overall.

Central is now 2-3 in EDC points and 3-10 overall. FARGO — Fargo Shanley remained undefeated in Eastern Dakota Conference play after a 25-21, 25-18, 25-18 victory against Fargo Davies on Thursday. Fallon Passanante led Davies with 10 kills.

Quinn Skari added seven kills and 17 assists. Shanley improves to 5-0 in EDC points and 11-1 overall. Davies is 4-1 in EDC points and 6-5 overall.

HORACE — West Fargo Horace shook off a loss in the third set to down Grand Forks Red River 26-24, 25-22, 25-25, 25-20 in an Eastern Dakota Conference match on Thursday. Horace’s Jordan Christofferson finished with 20 kills and she also had two blocks. Kendall Mueller had 14 kills and 12 digs.

Katelyn Pool and Jaiden Haile both had two blocks. Lilia Donnelly and Harper Colter both had 18 set assists, Alyssa Sommerfeld had a team-high 16 digs, Harper Colter had 12 digs and McKenna Colter served two aces. Red River is 2-3 in EDC points and 7-5 overall.

Horace is 4-1 in EDC points and 9-3 overall. FARGO — Fargo North came back from one set down to defeat West Fargo 20-25, 27-25, 25-17, 26-24 in Eastern Dakota Conference volleyball Thursday. Carrie Osier led the Spartans with seven kills.

Anna Halvorson added six kills and seven blocks. Ellee McIntosh had 22 kills and Andrea Wetterlin added 10 kills for the Packers. West Fargo falls to 2-4 in EDC points and 7-6 overall.

North is now 3-2 in EDC points and 7-5 overall. WEST FARGO — West Fargo Sheyenne remained unbeaten on the season after a 25-15, 25-15, 25-16 victory against Devils Lake in Eastern Dakota Conference volleyball Thursday. Emma Hofstad led Devils Lake with six kills.

Devils Lake is 0-5 in EDC points and 1-9 overall. Sheyenne is 4-0 in EDC points and 11-0 overall. PERHAM, Minn.

— Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton improved to 5-0 in the Heart O’Lakes Conference after a 25-13, 25-16, 19-25, 25-15 victory against Perham on Thursday. The Rebels are 10-2 overall. Perham is 1-4 in the Heart O’Lakes Conference and 5-11 overall.

CLIMAX, Minn. — Kaycee Endreson had eight kills to lead Moorhead Park Christian to a 25-18, 25-11, 31-29 victory against Climax-Fisher in Minnesota volleyball Thursday. Wynn Tomlinson had six aces, 11 digs and six blocks to help spark the Falcons.
