The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) today welcomed Mr. Gerald Nyaoma Arita, as he begins his term as Deputy Governor. This follows his appointment by President William Ruto which he made mid-December last year among other key positions within top governance organ of state corporations and agencies In a press release today the CBK, Governor Dr.
Kamau Thugge congratulated Nyaoma on his appointment. “On behalf of the CBK Board, Management and Staff, it is an honour and a pleasure to welcome him back to the Central Bank of Kenya.” Nyaoma returns to CBK after having had a long and distinguished career at the Bank which he joined in August1988 and served in various senior positions including the Financial Markets, Banking Services, and Internal Audit Departments, culminating in his role as the Director of the Bank Supervision Department.
Nyaoma holds an MPhil. (Economics) degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, and BA (Economics) degree from the University of Nairobi. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K) and an Associate of the Kenya Institute of Bankers (AKIB).
Nyaoma has served in the Board of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority as an Alternate Member to the Governor..
