Apple's event to feature M4 Macs and new iPads; Details inside

Apple is expected to host another event this October to unveil new Macs and iPads. If confirmed, it would mark the fourth October event in the past five years for Apple. Last year, on Monday, October 30, Apple held a virtual event to introduce new MacBook Pro and iMac models featuring the M3 series of chips.

He anticipates updates to the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini with M4 series chips this year, with the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro to follow in 2025.

Gurman also mentioned that some of the first M4 Macs are already being shipped from factories. He expects these updates to be part of the event he previously predicted for October. Apple is set to unveil updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips at its upcoming event, according to Gurman.

No significant design changes are anticipated this year, with enhancements like an OLED display and a thinner design likely postponed until 2026 at the earliest. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models last saw a redesign in 2021, and the most recent models with M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips were introduced in October of last year. According to Gurman, Apple is set to unveil refreshed 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips at its upcoming event.
