Do you recall the plastic iPhone 5c from 2013? The upcoming lower-cost Apple Watch SE might have a similar appearance. In Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman mentioned that Apple is working on a new Apple Watch SE with a plastic casing, which could be released next year. Also Read: iOS 18.

The upcoming Apple Watch SE is expected to come with a new chip that offers faster performance as well. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to come out priced around $500.

It's rumored to have a 6.1-inch screen, Face ID, a notch at the top of the display, a USB-C port, and a physical button. At the same time, Apple is getting ready to announce the iPhone 16 series in September.

A recent report from The Elec suggests that LG Display might also start supplying OLED screens for the upcoming iPhone SE series. BOE is likely to be the main supplier for the iPhone SE 4's screen. They apparently won the contract over Samsung because their pricing was more competitive.

Apple has worked with BOE before on various iPhone models, but their partnership for the SE 4 is a major step. BOE's share for this model is set to be its largest ever for any iPhone. The Elec reports that BOE will supply between 60 to 70% of the displays, which translates to about 20 million units each year.

The new phone might come out before the Lunar New Year in January 2025. However, since all three previous iPhone SE models were launched in March in the past, a March 2025 release is also possible. According to Macrumors, citing the Weibo-based leaker 'Fixed Focus Digital', the manufacturing process for the iPhone SE 4 backplate will be similar to that of the iPhone 16 series.

The latest leak suggests Apple might also consider adopting the vertical camera layout from the iPhone 16 for the SE 4. Also Read: Infinix to unveil its thinnest smartphone yet; Everything we know so far.
