Apple Watch series 10's design tweaks stall blood pressure monitoring feature

This feature is already available on certain competing smartwatch models, and it is anticipated that it will be incorporated into a future iteration of the Apple Watch. In his latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported that Apple had intended to include blood pressure monitoring in the Apple Watch Series 10. He references a source indicating that design modifications for the latest model caused complications with the feature during testing, particularly due to the updated design of the Series 10.

Consequently, the Apple Watch Series 10 will not support blood pressure monitoring, making the newly introduced sleep apnea detection feature the first significant health advancement in recent years. This feature aims to alert users who may suffer from a condition characterized by interruptions in breathing during sleep, which can result in frequent awakenings. In addition to sleep apnea detection, other health features were also highlighted at Apple's hardware launch event on September 9.

Although the company did not unveil a new version of the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation), it did enhance the existing truly wireless stereo (TWS) headset with a new capability that enables users to utilize them as a medical-grade hearing aid. Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 10 at their recent launch event, featuring design changes. Despite the addition of a sleep apnea detection feature, the inclusion of blood pressure monitoring has been delayed.
