Apple launched its latest premium smartphones, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The new handsets feature cutting-edge display technology integrated with Apple Intelligence, the company's AI-powered features. New design Apple has expanded the screens to 6.

3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and a massive 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. Despite the increase in size, Apple has reduced the borders, making these phones sleek and easy to handle.

The Pro models are crafted from Grade 5 titanium, durable and incredibly lightweight. The weight difference should be noticeable, especially compared to stainless steel models. The four new finishes — black, white, natural, and desert titanium — add a level of modern and timeless sophistication.

As someone who prefers a minimalist aesthetic, I believe the titanium finish is a stunning combination of durability and elegance. Power and performance with A18 Pro chip At the heart of the iPhone 16 Pro is Apple’s new A18 Pro chip. This chip is designed specifically for pro-level performance, whether you're editing photos, playing AAA games, or using Apple Intelligence.

The A18 Pro chip features second-generation 3-nanometer transistors, providing incredible performance and energy efficiency. For those who rely on our iPhones for everything from work to entertainment, the 20% boost in GPU performance and 15% increase in CPU speed should be noticeable. Apple Intelligence, now deeply integrated into the iPhone 16 Pro models, uses the A18 Pro’s 16-core neural engine to enable features like real-time language translation, AI photo editing, and more.

This is where I believe Apple is genuinely pushing the boundaries of what a smartphone can do. Apple said tasks that once were cumbersome are now simplified, making the phone feel like a personal assistant. Cameras As someone who loves photography, I find the camera upgrades in the iPhone 16 Pro incredibly exciting.

Thanks to the faster sensor, the new 48MP Fusion Camera can now capture even more detail with zero shutter lag. This means you can capture high-resolution photos and ProRAW images without compromising speed, even when my subjects are in motion. The 5x telephoto lens and 48MP ultrawide camera are equally impressive, offering greater flexibility for close-up and wide-angle shots.

Whether snapping landscapes or shooting portraits, the enhanced control over depth of field and zoom should make the iPhone 16 Pro feel like a professional camera system. Switching between lenses and adjusting settings should be a breeze with the new camera control, ensuring you never miss a moment. Battery life and thermal management Apple has clearly listened to user feedback regarding battery life.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max offers “the longest battery life ever in an iPhone”. Larger batteries, combined with optimised power management and the energy efficiency of the A18 Pro chip, should ensure the phone can easily last all day, even with heavy use. Apple has also improved the phone's thermal capacity.

The titanium chassis paired with a recycled aluminium substructure helps the iPhone 16 Pro run cooler, even during resource-heavy tasks like gaming or 4K video editing. With prices starting at €1,239 for the iPhone 16 Pro and €1,489 for the Pro Max (€1,869 for the 1TB version), these devices are undoubtedly premium. Pre-orders begin this Friday and are available from September 20.
