
Apple is planning to launch the second-generation AirTag in May or June this year, according to a leaker known as Kosutami. Earlier, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the next-generation AirTag would be released in mid-2025. May or June may aligh with the timeframe.
Many months before the iPhone 16 launch, Kosutami predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro would be equipped with a metal-enclosed battery. Apple introduced the first-generation AirTag in 2021, and the second-generation is set to be released after four years. The upcoming AirTag is rumoured to feature a second-gen Ultra Wideband chip, enabling a 3x longer range compared to the current AirTag.
The built-in speaker in the AirTag 2 is said to be more difficult to remove or tamper with. It is also rumoured to have better integration with Apple Vision Pro. The current AirTag, announced in April 2021, costs Rs 3,490 for 1 pack in India, and for a pack of four, it costs Rs 11,900.
