Apple dominates ACSI satisfaction survey, surpassing Samsung in PC preferences

The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) has released its most recent study focusing on electronics and household appliances. In this year's findings, Apple has once again secured the top position in the personal computer category, surpassing competitors such as Samsung, Amazon, Acer, Dell, Asus, and HP, albeit by a narrow margin. Satisfaction levels for desktop computers have increased by 3%, resulting in an ACSI score of 80. This enhancement secures desktops the top position in the rankings. Both laptops and tablets achieved a score of 79, with laptops rising by 1% and tablets experiencing a notable increase of 4%.

In terms of overall performance, Apple’s Mac and iPad received a score of 82, surpassing the desktop average by two points and exceeding the personal computer average of 79, which encompasses laptops and tablets, by three points. This score of 82 is consistent with Apple's performance from the previous year. Samsung narrowly fell short of tying with Apple, achieving a score of 81, while Acer, Amazon, Asus, Dell, and Lenovo all shared third place with a score of 79.

The survey indicated an increase in average satisfaction, rising from a score of 80 in 2023 to 81 in the results for 2024. According to the report, this improvement can be attributed to heightened satisfaction within the tablet category, marking 81 as a record-high average score. In the 2023 results, desktop computers achieved an average score of 84, which declined to 82 in 2024.
