Anambra State is presently ruled by the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, where Dr Charles Soludo is incumbent governor. Otu addressed APC’s 1,630 delegates in Awka, capital of Anambra State, yesterday, who gathered at the Dora Akunyili hall to elect the party’s flag bearer for the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State.
Governor Otu charged all party faithful to work for the ultimate success of the party by supporting whoever emerged as the winner of the party primaries. Otu declared that winning and getting Anambra State to join the APC fold is possible. “Our party, APC, is already governing two states in the Southeast, and getting a third state will be very good.
It is very possible to win over Anambra State. “It would be a significant gain for the people because it is time to align with the government at the center. “Anambra is the heart of the Southeastern states.
We’ve to bring out a candidate that will win the main election and connect Anambra, which is the heart of the Southeast, to the center. Winning the state for the APC as the number three will be very good,” he said. Governor Otu informed the delegates that pre-primary election meetings with all the aspirants were held the previous night, and they all agreed that a transparent exercise would be held and whoever emerged victorious will enjoy the support of others.
He reiterated the need for oneness of purpose and unity as the party goes into the main election.
