AP Finance Minister Keshav presents full-fledged budget in Assembly

Andhra Pradesh government has proposed allocation of a whopping Rs.29,909 crore and Rs.11,855 crore for the school education and agriculture sectors, respectively, in the State.

Priority was also given to the irrigation sector. This was stated by the Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, who presented the full budget for the financial year 2024-25 on Monday in the State assembly in Amaravati. Stating that the State government was according top priority for the welfare of the people and super six promises given during Assembly elections, he also proposed allocation of Rs.



18,421 crore for the health sector and Rs.4,285 crore for the women and child welfare department apart from Rs.16,739 crore for the Panchayat Raj and Rural development.

This was the first full-fledged budget of the NDA alliance government, which took office in June this year. The finance minister presented the budget for the financial year 2024-25 with an outlay of about Rs.2.

94 lakh crore with a revenue expenditure estimated at Rs 2,35,916.99 crore and capital expenditure at Rs 32,712.84 crore.

Significant allocations were proposed for urban development (Rs.11,490 crore), housing (Rs.4012 crore), Roads and Buildings (9,554 crore) and irrigation (Rs.

16,705 crore), among key sectors..
