The business has been shortlisted as one of the top ten indoor family entertainment venues in the city, as nominated by readers of The Press.

“ANYONE from walking age upwards can bounce, we’ve even had 80-year-olds bouncing.” So said Russell Burn, area support manager at Flip Out York, about the adventure park in Rose Avenue where he’s worked at for nine years , which has been . Readers are able to vote for their favourite by picking up a copy of The Press newspaper until Saturday, April 19 and sending in a voting slip.

The winner is set to be announced in the week commencing April 28. Russell said: “The trampoline park was built in April 2016 and we now have about 20 staff here, a mixture of full and part-time. “I’ve loved this since the day I started doing it – what I love the most is seeing people coming off the arena with a big smile on their face.

“It’s always great to see them come back time and again, we have families that come back who’ve been here since we began, so I’ve seen them coming here from aged four to 14, everyone knows each other on first-name terms and it’s always lovely to see them." He said the site has retained its most popular offer of 56 trampolines, which he said is quite a lot for adventure parks, as well as the inflatable. Russell added: “Lots of our customers still love the foam pit, they love to test themselves, they’ll do a flip into the pit then try again, to perfect their moves.

” As well as the trampolines, Russell said the three-storey soft-play area is a favourite, along with a ninja course with balance and co-ordination obstacles which the kids can time themselves against. Anyone not taking part in the arena can watch what’s going on from the on-site café, the manager added. He said the best feedback he gets is about staff interaction on site, particularly with children who can’t go onto the arena and bounce.

Parents and guardians tell him that the staff will spend time with the kids, with play and involvement, so that they’re not left to entertain themselves. Russell said: “We encourage the staff to get involved with everyone and make colleagues available to do that. “Our hour-long friendly session on a Thursday is one I really enjoy.

“This is where the lights go down, the music is off and we welcome people with additional needs, who have been coming for so many years and its lovely to give them that special environment. “They know us as friends, but that’s true every day we are open. “I’m off to Clifton Moor today and I’m sure I’ll see some of our customers and we speak to each other as friends.

“It’s such a nice, warm place to work.”.
