There can be nothing worse than having bare patches on your lawn. Luckily, a gardening expert has shared how to fix the problem easily.

It's got to that time of year when lots of us are starting to spend more time in the garden . After all, the weather is a lot nicer and flowers are starting to bloom into colour. However, one problem some people may have is patches on their lawn that look a bit sad and lifeless.

Don't worry though, as a gardening expert has shared a simple way to make it look a lot better. According to Ish, who's known as gardening.with.

ish on TikTok , there's a simple way to remedy the issue with one item. When you know what you're doing, you can work to make your lawn look a lot better. He said it's "easy" to do if you have a roll of turf to hand, and the results can be pretty impressive too.

While fixing patches with seeds can be effective, he noted it can also be quite time consuming. At around £3 a roll, he said you could probably fix a lot of patches with just one. To get started with covering your patches, he said to place the turf over the top and cut an area to size with a stanley knife.

This will act as a guide for what you need to cover up. He then shows how to dig the area around the patch so the layer of turf will nicely fit in. Once you've dug the hole, he said you should loosen up the soil a little to ensure the area is flattened out well.

Once level, he places the piece of turf on top and lightly presses it down. You can add some top soil underneath if you feel it's needed to help it fit. Then, once the patch is covered, he said it's important to give it a really good water.

You need to keep it well watered for a good two to three weeks to help it blend nicely with the surrounding grass. The simple trick can work wonders, according to Ish. If you put the effort in to doing it right, it should work out quite well.

The video has been viewed hundreds of times since it was shared, and people were quick to comment too. Gardeners had all sorts of questions and ideas. One person said: "I've done seed, but it does take ages to grow.

I'm going to do this next time." Another wrote: "I did this. Took stepping stones out and used turf.

Looked obvious at first, but now blended in nicely." A third replied: "That's a brilliant idea!" A fourth added: "Would love to use turf, but all garden centres around here have stopped selling it." Meanwhile, one more chimed in with: "Half my lawn is dead.

Help me please!".
