Anthony Hopkins blockbuster to be performed by theatre group

A theatre group is bringing an Anthony Hopkins blockbuster to the stage. Apeel Drama Group is preparing to perform The Father, a play by Florian Zeller, at St Paul Peel Parish Community Hall in Little Hulton. The drama was released as a movie in 2020, starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman.

Geoff Millard, chairman of the theatre company, will play the main character, with Gillian Roberts as his daughter, 'Ann'. The supporting cast includes Neil Ogden as 'Pierre', Helen Davies as 'Laura', Chris Millard as 'Man', and Meredith Collinson as 'Woman'. The play is directed by Glenn Robinson.



The Father will be performed from Wednesday, April 9, to Saturday, April 12, 2025. Tickets, priced at £10, or £8 for concessions, are available online. The drama group has previously put on productions such as 'Allo 'Allo! and Blackadder.
