NBA star Anthony Edwards has agreed to Ayesha Howard ’s custody requests following a lengthy paternity battle . According to documents obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, April 7, Edwards, 23, told a Georgia Superior Court that he consented to Howard receiving temporary sole physical and legal custody of 6-month-old daughter Aubri Summers, who was born in October 2024. In Touch was the first to break the news.

Howard, 38, noted in her court filings that she has been Aubri’s sole caregiver since her birth. Edwards is asking for a Georgia court hearing to “establish [his] child support obligations.” In October 2024, Edwards filed a paternity lawsuit asking for a DNA test using a “neutral and licensed laboratory” in response to Howard naming him as the child’s father in her own September petition in Los Angeles.

She asked for Edwards to be listed as Aubri’s father on her birth certificate. The Minnesota Timberwolves star submitted court documents in 2024 insisting that he was “not seeking child custody or visitation of Aubri” and claimed “the only issues to be resolved [were] financial in nature.

” The pair previously clashed over child support arrangements, as Howard asked for a payment agreement to be established in California. Edwards successfully blocked Howard’s request in California court, thus moving the case back to Georgia for its most recent developments. Howard’s lawyer responded in March by stressing their client’s urgent need for a child support agreement because she was “currently unemployed and [relying] on savings, family support and any support that Edwards provides to maintain the needs and care for the minor child.

” In addition to seeking child support to pay for their child’s education, Howard asked for the NBA star to reimburse her for any “actual costs incurred for her pregnancy, birth and expenses incurred after the child’s birth,” as well reimbursement for her attorney’s fees.
