He hoped to sell it for $1.9m but had to settle for $1.75m The Prime Minister has had to drop the price of his Sydney investment townhouse by $150,000 after it spent months on the market without a buyer.

Anthony Albanese sold his Dulwich Hill investment property for $1.75 million on Friday. The PM previously withdrew the house from its October auction where he had hoped to bring in $1.



9 million before the initial asking price was revised. The three-bedroom property was last sold for $1,175,000 in 2015 and property values in the area have skyrocketed by 92.8 per cent since then.

Now the median price of a Dulwich Hill home has an asking price of $2.28 million. In recent months the housing market has cooled off in Sydney and prices have been steadily falling in the very months that Mr Albanese has been trying to sell.

Mr Albanese earlier this year revealed he had purchased a new clifftop home in the Central Coast's Copacabana for $4.3 million in preparation for his new life with fiancée Jodie Haydon. The prime minister said he wanted to simplify his life and real estate portfolio prior to their marriage which is scheduled for.
