The film is an adaptation of a series of episodes released during Hedgehog Awareness Week 2024. It follows the adventures of a young hedgehog and aims to teach viewers how to make gardens safer and more welcoming for hedgehogs.
Fay Vass, chief executive for BHPS, said: "We're so excited that has reached the final for the Smiley Charity Film Awards—the Oscars of charity films. "Huge thanks to everyone who voted for us and helped us get this far." The film aims to spread awareness about actions to help hedgehogs survive and thrive in the wild.
It has already garnered more than 88,000 views on YouTube and considerable positive interaction on social media platforms. Ms Vass added: " was created to help us spread the word about all the things we can do to help hedgehogs not only survive in the wild but to thrive—and for it to be recognised by the film industry and seen by even more people means so much to us.".
