The SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare is excited to participate in the Bissell Pet Foundation's "Empty the Shelters" Holiday Event from Dec. 1-17. During this special adoption event, all adoption fees will be reduced, mostly free, making it easier than ever to find a loving companion this holiday season.
Each pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations, ready to bring joy to their new families. Since its beginning, "Empty the Shelters" has helped pets across the country find forever homes by removing barriers regarding adoption fees. This event comes at a time when shelters nationwide, including ours, are experiencing overcrowding.
This year, we’re adding even more holiday cheer with our “Home for the Holidays” program. Starting Dec. 18, community members can take home a shelter pet for the Christmas season.
There’s no long-term obligation to foster or adopt — just an opportunity to provide shelter pets with the companionship and love they deserve during the holidays. Pets can be returned anytime after Christmas, and all necessary supplies will be provided by the SPCA Albrecht Center. Both fostering for the holidays and adopting permanently makes a tremendous impact for our shelter pets.
Giving them a break from shelter life helps them decompress and experience the joys of a home environment, while adoptions give shelter pets a second chance at a better life and open the door for new animals in need of rescue. The SPCA Albrecht Center is located at 199 Willow Run Road. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 11 a.
m. to 4:30 p.m.
