After a quieter opening day, the waters off the coast of Kokopo came alive on Day 2 of the 48th GFA PNG National Game Fishing Titles, with anglers from East New Britain (ENB) making a significant splash. The Day 2 saw East New Britain’s piscatorial reputation return with valor, with 10 blue marlin and one sailfish tagged, with another nine marlin eluding the anglers after a successful strike. For many of the visiting anglers, fishing the weekend, it was a wonderful reward after a tough Day One.
Port Moresby angler Jay Reddy, bounced back after a unfortunate disqualification on Day One with a boat bursting monster that hit 81.75kg on the scale. Caught on 15kg line, it was an impressive catch and marked as his first official Marlin in a National Game Fishing Titles.
