MIRI (Oct 5): The Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Sarawak held a get-together with its state and branch leadership last Saturday. According to AMK Sarawak chief Chiew Choon Man, the programme aimed to provide a platform and opportunity for youths to deepen their interest in politics and understand more clearly their roles in the society.
“Through this programme, we hope to develop young leaders with integrity and competitiveness, ready to take responsibility in shaping the future of our state. “Various trainings were conducted during the programme, covering the history, principles and structure of our party, as well as imparting knowledge of strategy and tactics in politics. “This will enable participants to better understand our politics and struggle, making them more knowledgeable and confident in participating in political activities in the future,” said Chiew, adding that the party believes a strong political education is the basis for every young leader to become an agent of positive change in society.
Additionally, the programme featured a brainstorming session to stimulate ideas on how party members can revive the political atmosphere in Sarawak. “We emphasised the importance of the roles of each individual in respective areas. This includes helping the community understand government policies and serving as a channel of communication between the government and the people.
“Through these programmes, we hope to explain the benefits of government policies to the community more effectively, ensuring that they are not just observers but also involved in the decision-making process,” Chiew said. Attendees were also able to meet and spend time with Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who happened to be in the city for ‘Program Madani Rakyat’. The prime minister gave them words of motivation and further boosted their spirit.
Chiew, who is also Miri MP, urged all AMK Sarawak members to continue fighting for the welfare of the people as well as to reach out and help the community. “Our success as Parti Keadilan Rakyat, especially among the youth, depends on our ability to unite and fight together. “Each individual has the potential to make a big impact, and with close cooperation, we can achieve common goals.
“Let’s make this struggle continue for the sake of the people of Sarawak and a brighter future for all. Together, we can turn dreams into reality,” he said..
