Angel in the Outfield

CHULA VISTA (KUSI/FOX 5) - Eastlake's Angel Laya might be the best high school baseball player in San Diego. The 6'3" left-handed hitter is a career .328 hitter for the Titans, who also has a cannon for an arm in the outfield.

Laya is currently committed to playing baseball for the Ducks in college at the University of Oregon, but the option to turn pro may present itself to Angel come the 2025 MLB Draft in July. Angel is currently rated as the 95th best prospect in the upcoming draft according to MLB.com.
