Andy Murray consoles Rory McIlroy after ‘tough’ year of agonising near-misses as he says ‘you’ve been doing super well’

ANDY MURRAY and Rory McIlroy go way back - and they've always got on well. A junior member at Dunblane golf club as a boy, the 37-year-old loves his sport in general and he's managed to get his handicap down to 7 ahead of today's entry in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am at Wentworth. Also competing is McIlroy, part of a high-powered group which also includes scratch golfer and former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale . And the pair shared a moment on the driving range as they fine-tuned their respective games ahead of the event this morning 's 8am start.
