Eight-time Grand Slam champion and former World No. 1 tennis player Andre Agassi is all set to visit India to flag off the PWR DUPR Indian Tour & League officially. On December 13, in a grand event at the ITC Grand Central, Agassi will inaugurate India’s premier pickleball tour which promises to bring a new kind of sporting excitement to the country.
Agassi will also be involved in an exhibition match although the opponent is yet to be decided. Team owners will also be revealed at the event while the names of the players participating in the PWR DUPR Indian Tour & League will also be announced. The inaugural PWR DUPR India Masters was a big hit and the PWR DUPR Indian Tour & League is expected to replicate its magic on Indian soil.
Action-packed surprises are also awaiting as some celebrity guests will also grace the event with their presence. Agassi is known for his illustrious tennis career and he won eight Grand Slam singles titles, including four Australian Opens, a French Open, a Wimbledon, and two US Opens, as well as a gold medal in men's singles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. The Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) were introduced on July 24 at a lavish ceremony in Dubai by Pickleball League Asia Private Limited in collaboration with The Times Group.
In addition to stopping in Mumbai and Tsu, Japan, the PWR DUPR Indian League and Tour will also visit Ahmedabad in March 2025, Pune in June 2025, Bengaluru in August 2025, Hyderabad in September 2025, New Delhi in October 2025, and Chennai in November 2025.
