Andaz Apna Apna Re-Release: Producer’s Children Reveal, ‘No One Came For Premiere 30 Years Ago Too’

After more than 30 years, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor starrer Andaz Apna Apna has finally been re-released on the big-screens for the fans to enjoy. However, apart from sharing minimal content and announcement posts about it, there has been no buzz or excitement surrounding it. The film’s late producer Vinay Sinha’s kids have now opened up about the film and revealed why none of the stars were seen on-ground promoting it.

However, no one was able to take out time off their extremely busy schedule to promote the movie, apart from making posts on their official social media handles. They went down the memory lane and shared that the same thing had happened back in 1994, when the film was first released. They revealed that despite continually reaching out to director Rajkumar Santoshi, who hadn’t even attended the film’s premiere back then, hasn’t even shared a video byte to promote the re-release of Andaz Apna Apna.

They revealed that since the film is currently being “heavily reshot,” the filmmaker didn’t “come forward on the promotional aspect.” They added, “I messaged him again today, asking for a video byte, and I’m still waiting for a reply.

Aamir Khan and Salman Khan were shooting, they were busy. Raj ji didn’t come. Only Meenakshi Seshadri came.

Raveena and Karisma were also not there. When they were initially signed, they were still in the nascent stage of their careers. But in the four years that it took to make the film, they became huge stars.

They signed a lot of films. Dad didn’t want to wait any longer, and he just decided to release the film.” For those who don’t remember, Andaz Apna Apna had failed to create a buzz during its theatrical release.

The leading ladies Raveena and Karisma didn’t see eye to eye during the film’s production. Eventually, Salman pushed everyone to complete the film as the delays had gotten out of hand.

In the past few years, there have been reports and speculations regarding Andaz Apna Apna’s sequel, leaving fans eager to know if Aamir and Salman would collaborate for the film once again. However, the children dismissed the reports by stating that they won’t give away the film’s rights, despite Aamir and Santoshi’s statements and claims. They said, “Aamir was never a producer (of the film), he was just an actor.
