Ananya Panday is all set to play Dilreet Gill, a courageous lawyer, in the upcoming historical drama Kesari Chapter 2 . The film, which also stars Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, will be released on April 18. Today, during a promotional event, Ananya was seen speaking about the Jallianwala Bagh incident and said that she is not the same person.

Varinder Chawla shared the video in which Ananya spoke at length about the film. “When I read the script only. Bahot vigiliant reactions aa rahe the.

You know everything was very emotional. Bahot saare questions the ki sach mein aisa hua hai. M not sure if we have addressed or no.

But jab humne history mein padha tha itne saare details kabhi nai the you know. Shayad ek death count de the hume pata bhi nai ki vo right hai ya wrong hai. Toh humne briefly padhe the history.

But when I read the script and I heard the script, mujhe bahot kuch seekhne ko mila isse. And I think jo sabse important cheez jo mujhe seekhne ko mile as the younger generation hum freedom ko bahot lightly lete hai. You know we think han humara haq hai.

But when I read the script and became part of this film mujhe vo weight laga, vo scarifices. Humari freedom ke liye phele logon ne jo kiya tha I really felt the weight of that and I understood that. I don’t think I am the same person after being part of this film," she said.

In his caption, he wrote: “This is not a costume. It’s a symbol — of tradition, of resistance, of truth, of my nation. C.

Sankaran Nair didn’t fight with a weapon. He fought the British Empire with the law — and with fire in his soul." According to the CBFC website, the certificate was granted on April 9, 2025.

The adult rating hints at the film’s intense and possibly graphic portrayal of one of India’s most turbulent chapters, the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre..
