In a video going viral on social media, Reliance scion Anant Ambani rescued chickens headed for slaughter. He allegedly stopped a truck loaded with fowls and bought the entire shipment for double the price. In the viral clip, the son of the richest billionaire in Asia is seen proudly walking with one of the rescued chickens in his hands.
Media houses have been scripting the animal rescue during the gentleman’s 140-kilometer Jamnagar-Dwarka padyatra as a “gift of freedom” for the 250 chickens and “save them from dark fate.” For the unversed, Anant Ambani also runs the controversial Vantara animal rescue center, dubbed his ‘pet zoo’ by animal activists. The center is hailed for the rehabilitation of rescued animals, including several endangered species that legally shouldn’t be transported out of their habitat.
The zoo, spread across 3500 acres, has over 2000 animals, including carnivores like lions from Botswana and tigers from India. Wonder what these animals are fed. Prolly not rescued chicken.
