AM/NS supplied 7,000 mt of flat steel for Anji-Khad rail bridge in J&K

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) supplied about 7,000 metric tonnes (mt) of flat steel for India’s first and only cable-stayed Anji Khad rail bridge in Jammu and Kashmir , where the Railways conducted the first loaded train trial run. “We feel truly honoured to contribute to nation-building from our flagship plant in Hazira, Gujarat, which has supplied world-class steel to this engineering marvel. Our team has meticulously fabricated the steel, fulfilling almost the entire requirement of the project from our Hazira plant’s fabrication shop, adhering to the precise specifications.

Our involvement in this transformative infrastructure project from the beginning speaks volumes about our expertise,” stated Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President, Sales & Marketing, AM/NS India. The bridge links Katra and Reasi sections of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) in Jammu and Kashmir. The company has also significantly contributed to the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest rail bridge, by meeting more than 70 per cent of the flat steel requirements, it added.
