In a video that surfaced on social media, Big B was seen arriving at the residence to attend Kumar’s funeral. He was also accompanied by his actor-son, Abhishek Bachchan. The father-son duo were seen greeting Kumar’s family with folded hands as they expressed their condolences.
Besides Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, several other celebrities, including Prem Chopra and Salim Khan, also attended Manoj Kumar’s funeral. His son, Kunal Goswami, confirmed the news of his death and told the news agency ANI, “My father, Manoj Kumar, passed away today at 3:30 AM at Kokilaben Hospital.
He had been feeling unwell for a long time, but he fought every hurdle with resilience and grace. He peacefully breathed his last by God’s grace and Sai Baba’s blessings. Sia Ram.
" Following his death, Dharmendra visited Manoj Kumar’s house in Mumbai. Among others, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Raveena Tandon, Subhash Ghai and Anupam Kher also took to their respective social media handles to pay their last tributes to the actor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to his X handle to remember the “legend".
Manoj Kumar was known for acting in and directing films with patriotic themes. Some of his popular works include “Shaheed" (1965), “Upkar" (1967), “Purab Aur Paschim" (1970), and “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" (1974). Kumar also directed several other popular films like “Hariyali Aur Raasta", “Woh Kaun Thi", “Himalaya Ki God Mein", “Do Badan", “Patthar Ke Sanam", “Neel Kamal", and “Kranti".
He was also honoured with the Padma Shri in 1992 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015 for his contributions to Indian cinema..
