S Muthusamy ERODE: BJP leader and Union home minister Amit Shah’s allegations against the DMK would enhance the Dravidian party’s appeal among the people, said Tamil Nadu housing and urban development minister S Muthusamy on Saturday. At a press conference in Chennai on Friday, Amit Shah emphasized the need to defeat the DMK accusing it of being involved in corruption. Responding to it, Muthusamy asserted that the DMK was on the right path and that its alliance remained robust.
He said, “People will recognize that Amit Shah's claims are unfounded and so they will continue to support the DMK." Muthusamy was speaking to reporters after launching construction of a road from Ayamedu to Thayirpalayam in Nasiyanur town panchayat. Asked about Supreme Court declaring 10 bills withheld by Governor R N Ravi deemed to have been assented to, Muthusamy said the verdict had clarified the public's understanding of the current administration.
He noted that the Supreme Court had effectively validated the govt's operations, stating, "This govt is functioning effectively under these circumstances." Asked about forest minister K Ponmudy's remarks about women, Muthusamy said it was incorrect to claim that women were unsafe based solely on isolated incidents. He acknowledged that Ponmudy's remarks were misguided but emphasized that the chief minister M K Stalin's action of removing him from the party post had acted as a cautionary message for all.
