Kakinada: Bharatiya Janata Party former AP president and MLC Somu Veerraju emphasised that union home minister Amit Shah is going all out to strengthen the party across the country, including south India in coming elections. “The party will emerge victorious in Tamil Nadu,” he declared at a function in Rajamahendravaram, where BJP leaders felicitated Somu Veerraju for becoming the MLC on Tuesday. Addressing party workers on the occasion, Veerraju disclosed that Shah sleeps for only two hours.
Rest of the time, he is planning strategies to strengthen the country and also the party. The MLC said when YSRC had been in government, the central government gave loans of up to ₹40,000 crore to AP. But, now, the central government is providing packages to the state, like railway zone and funds for Capital Amaravati and Polavaram project.
Somaraju described Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as a visionary. Speaking as the chief guest at the function, union minister of state for mines and industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma said he got Narsapuram Lok Sabha seat and the union ministry only due to Somu Veerraju, who recognised his services to the party.
Srinivasa Varma called upon party cadres to strengthen the party by taking the government schemes to the people. Those present included tourism minister Kandula Durgesh, Anaparthi MLA N. Ramakrishna Reddy and former MLC P.
