The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will keep affecting extreme Northern Luzon while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rains over Mindanao in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon. In its forecast, the state weather bureau said the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Caraga and Davao Region. Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao, on the other hand, may see cloudy skies with rains due to the Amihan.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger possible flash floods or landslides. Also due to the ITCZ, the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms may cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Residents of affected areas were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during these severe thunderstorms. State meteorologists also said the extreme Northern Luzon will experience strong wind conditions and rough coastal water conditions. The rest of Northern Luzon may see moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country. Sunrise will be at 6:01 a.m.
