​Ameristar Casino East Chicago employees fed the needy for Thanksgiving.

Employees at the lakefront casino by Pastrick Marina on Lake Michigan in East Chicago volunteered Wednesday to prepare and serve Thanksgiving meals at Salvation Army in East Chicago. “During the holiday season, our team members find an even greater meaning in extending a helping hand,” said Jaime Williams, vice president of player development and marketing representing Chicagoland properties at Penn, the casino's parent company. “Giving back is an integral part of our culture across our Chicagoland Hollywood and Ameristar Casino properties.

They prepared for the Hesed House homeless shelter and Northern Illinois Food Bank that serves over 250,000 meals daily.



“We are deeply grateful to our partners at PENN Entertainment for their long-time commitment to our community that truly helps nourish our neighbors,” said Julie Yurko, President and CEO at Northern Illinois Food Bank. “Our history of service is a testament to the power of collaboration, and we could not achieve what we do without the help of our volunteers.” The 70,000-square-foot Ameristar Casino on the lakefront in East Chicago has more than 950 slot machines, 40 table games, a retail sportsbook and restaurants like Bugatti’s Steak & Pasta, Burger Brothers and Red Lotus Noodle Bar.
