Mike Wolfe has been in the news quite a bit across the past couple weeks, and unfortunately quite a bit of it has been involving tragedy. The “American Pickers” star recently shared the heartbreaking final moments that he spent with his former co-host on the show, Frank Fritz, before Fritz died. And Monday he took to social media with another sad announcement for the show’s fans.

“20 years ago I bought a camera and a box of Mini DV tapes and started shooting my adventures picking across America,” he wrote on Instagram. “The show was just a dream back then for a guy that was sleeping in his van and knocking on doors. But even then I knew how impactful and inspiring each collectors story could be to all of us.

..” Wolfe shared a photo of himself along with “American Pickers” star Danielle Colby and a woman.

“This is Nora,” he wrote, identifying the woman. “Danny and I filmed with her a few days ago but I met her and her husband JP back in 2017 when we shot an episode of American Pickers with them. Her and JP have devoted their lives to their passions and collecting.

With them both being artist and visual merchandisers you can only (imagine) the funky beautiful pieces they came across together. “JP has unfortunately passed so what we shot recently was a tribute to a life well lived and the beauty that still remains thru all of his work,” Wolfe added. “Noras energy has made such an impact on my life and Danny’s I can’t wait for you all to meet her.

” Star child actor and ‘pop culture icon’ from 1960s hit show has died at 73 ‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe’s heartbreaking revelation will leave fans in tears ‘Duck Dynasty’ star’s health ‘hasn’t been good,’ son says ‘Property Brothers’ star’s social media post has fans sending prayers Music world rocked as 12 singers currently battle cancer Fans were quick to respond with positive messages. Wolfe recently also revealed the show is going on a brief hiatus, and he has been making the rounds and doing interviews ahead of his movie debut with the film “The Day of Reckoning.” As part of that, he recently talked about Fritz’s final moments.

It was both beautiful and heartbreaking stuff. “I got the call that he wasn’t doing well,” Wolfe told PEOPLE. I just feel blessed that I was able to get there.

I was there for about an hour before he passed, and I was holding his hand and rubbing his chest when he took his last breath. I took my fingers and closed his eyes. “I just told him that I wasn’t mad at him and that I loved him and that I cared about him so much,” Wolfe added.

“And then when I could see that he was struggling, I just said, ‘Just go find your mom. Go find her right now. Just go find her.

‘” Fritz was 60 when he died on Sept. 30, 2024. His death reportedly came from complications from a severe stroke he suffered two years ago.

That was a short-time after he left “American Pickers,” too, and a big question mark in the aftermath of his departure was the relationship between he and Wolfe. “We all do care about Frank, and we want him back on the show,” Wolfe reportedly said after Fritz left. “I would love to talk with him again, we would absolutely love to, but he just can’t get it right.

“Frank is just going through a lot personally with addictions,” Wolfe reportedly added. “It’s unfortunate that he’s made decisions that have him the way he is.” Wolfe issued a statement last year after Fritz’s death and mentioned then they were together when he died.

“I’ve known Frank for more than half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamers who was just as sensitive as he was funny,” Wolfe wrote. “The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself. “We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home,” he closed the statement by saying.

“I love you buddy and will miss you so much. I know (you’re) in a better place.”.
