AMDT Festival of Creativity 2024 Concludes as Sri Lanka’s Largest Gathering of Creative Talent

The AMDT Festival of Creativity 2024 came to life and concluded as a grand celebration of Sri Lanka’s thriving creative industries, from the 23rd to the 31st of August 2024. Organised by the AMDT School of Creativity, this year’s festival too was a calendar highlight for anyone passionate about creativity and creative careers. It provided a unique platform for networking, learning, and showcasing innovative work across multiple creative disciplines, through a series of engaging events that spotlighted both emerging and established talent. These events included the AMDT Showcase, AMDT Fashion Show, and Talk Shows, which were spread over 25 separate sessions.Notable presences at the event included Chief Guest, Premila Paulraj – Director – Employability and Qualifications at Pearson South Asia, along with Special Guest, Suriya Bibile, Pearson’s Deputy General Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Meanwhile, the AMDT Festival of Creativity drew massive crowds, with over 2,600 individuals participating. This included students, parents, top employers, recruiters, industry professionals, and the public. Featuring 100+ exhibitors, the festival also enjoyed the participation of key personnel from over 100 top employers and recruiters in Sri Lanka, making it the largest gathering of creative industry experts in Sri Lanka. As a result, the AMDT Festival of Creativity served as a pivotal platform for students, providing them with numerous opportunities to connect with industry leaders, employers, and potential collaborators.The festival kicked off with the AMDT Showcase, which took place on the 23rd and 24th of August at The Taprobane in Rajagiriya – which served as the principal venue for the AMDT Festival of Creativity. The AMDT Showcase presented the work of graduate students, offering a glimpse into the future of Sri Lanka’s creative sector. The diverse array of projects spanned Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Animation, VFX, UX Design, Photography, Film, and Interior Design, highlighting these emerging creatives’ technical abilities and artistic vision. On the 28th of August, the festival turned the spotlight on the fashion industry with the AMDT Fashion Show 2024. Graduate students of the AMDT School of Creativity took centre stage, showcasing their unique creations in a stunning display of creativity and craftsmanship. The event saw an impressive blend of traditional techniques and modern aesthetics, as these talented designers impressed the audience with their bold and innovative designs. For many, the AMDT Fashion Show marked the launch of their fashion careers, as industry professionals and fashion enthusiasts alike discovered fresh new talent as they showcased their vision for the future of fashion in Sri Lanka.Meanwhile, the Talk Shows were held across 25+ sessions covering various areas of interest, from the 23rd to the 31st of August.
