Coming into force at 12pm today (January 2), the warning will be in place until Wednesday (January 8). The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has warned that the weather is expected to have "severe impacts across health and social care services", including an increase in deaths among the elderly and "likely" increased demand on health services. Other potential impacts include travel delays causing staffing issues and challenges keeping indoor temperatures at the recommended 18C.
