Amazon Prime to release new season of hit thriller series in days

Fans don't have long to wait to watch the second season of one of Amazon Prime's best thrillers as it drops in just days.

Amazon Prime is set to release the highly-anticipated second season of one of its best thrillers in just days, with fans having waited years for its return. The streaming service will release a slew of new seasons of a number of shows in the month of May, including the long-awaited second season of Nine Perfect Strangers. The show, which stars Nicole Kidman in the main role, first premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2021 and was met with rave reviews.

Fans of the show will finally get to watch the story continue when its second season drops on May 22. Nine Perfect Strangers follows Kidman as an unconventional and often questionable health and wellness guru who invites nine strangers to a retreat in order to "heal". The first season was full of bizarre twists and turns, and it was enjoyed by viewers and critics alike, with an eventual second season getting the green light following the show's popularity.



The first season was set in the US and starred famous faces such as Melissa McCarthy , Luke Evans and Regina Hall but Season 2 will take Kidman's character, Masha, to the Austrian Alps. Amazon says of the second season of the hit show: "Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko, played by Nicole Kidman, to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. "Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink.

Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself." While many enjoyed the first season of Nine Perfect Strangers when it dropped in 2021, viewers were certainly divided with the show earning a 59% score on Rotten Tomatoes. One positive reviewer hailed the series as "powerful" while another called it "hard to take".

The new season will also feature a cast of famous faces including Christine Baranski and Schitt's Creek actress Annie Murphy. Amazon Prime will release a slew of hotly-anticipated new seasons of favourite shows, such as The Handmaid's Tale season 6 which will drop on May 3. On May 9, Amazon Prime Video subscribers will be treated to the second part of Molly Mae: Behind It All which will continue to chart the influencer's meteoric rise to fame and her life in the spotlight.

Season 4 of Clarkson's Farm is set to drop on May 23. In the upcoming season, Clarkson and his team return a few months later to "life on the farm has changed". As well as series, Amazon Prime will also release new movies onto the platform, many of whih fans have been waiting a long time for.

Among them is Another Simple Favour, a sequel to the hit 2018 film starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively . This time, the pair reunite on the island of Capri, Italy for a wedding and as expected, betrayal and even murder follow them. Another Simple Favour will be available to stream on May 1.

Meanwhile, May 8 will see the release of The Assessment, a dystopian drama set in a world destroyed by climate change starring Elizabeth Olson and Himesh Patel..
