Summary: Amazon has added a requirement to purchase certain RTX 50-series GPUs, where you need to be a Prime member to complete the purchase. This Prime-exclusive access appears to apply to more than a few GPUs, including AMD’s latest.Amazon Prime members will have an easier time getting NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series GPUs thanks to a new exclusive access label Amazon has implemented.

This new Prime-exclusive access also appears to apply to AMD’s new RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT GPUs. If you’re unaware, it hasn’t exactly been easy to get your hands on the new GPU from NVIDIA or AMD.Both series of GPUs have launched just in the last couple of months, and if you were lucky enough to find one, it may not have been at MSRP.

Much of that has been due to resellers. After using bots to snatch tons of stock, resellers would then scalp the GPUs for a higher price. Some companies, like ZOTAC, have done their part to try and combat this.

Amazon is now doing its part to try and make it easier on consumers who want to find one of these GPUs.Amazon Prime members will have exclusive access to some RTX 50 and RX 9070 series GPUsIf you have Amazon Prime and you’re logged into your account, it’s easy to miss these offers. However, there’s a good chance that any cards you see at MSRP or close to it, are included in these lockouts.

I checked Amazon for a listing of this ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 GPU in a Private Window where I wasn’t logged in, and was told this was a Prime-Exclusive GPU. The same card, while logged in, didn’t have any discernible labels that this was a Prime-exclusive product. However, Club386 found slightly different results searching for an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT.

Specifically, the Sapphire Pulse card. While logged in, the Sapphire Pulse had a small label below the price that stated it was exclusive for Prime members. When not logged in, it showed a label off to the right like in the screenshot below.

There, you would also find a button to join Prime. Amazon is obviously trying to make it easier for consumers to find these GPUs. It’s also likely using this as a way to get more people to join Prime.

Some cards don’t have this Prime membership requirementIt’s worth noting that this requirement for a Prime membership to purchase isn’t applied to all the GPUs from either series. It also only seems to apply to the GPUs and not prebuilt PCs with these GPUs in them. Still, there are more than a few between both NVIDIA and AMD that seem to be Prime-exclusive.

And this requirement to subscribe should help a little to curb the scalpers. At least to the point where they can’t buy as much stock. There doesn’t seem to be any confirmation on how long Amazon will keep this in place.

That being said, it wouldn’t be surprising if certain GPUs stayed like this for the foreseeable future. Amazon may also end up adding more models to the Prime-exclusive access. For now, the list is limited.

But anything is better than nothing. Especially if you haven’t had much luck elsewhere. The post Amazon is making some RTX 50-series GPUs Prime-exclusive appeared first on Android Headlines.
