Instead, wear practical and comfortable attire such as salwar kameez, pants and shirt, tracksuit, or other clothing suitable for high-altitude trekking. Never begin your journey on an empty stomach.

Also, avoid overexerting yourself during the Yatra and respect your physical limits. Always travel in groups, accompanied by porters, horses, or ponies. Keep them within your sight at all times, and be ready to assist fellow Yatris on the route.

Stick to the marked paths and avoid taking shortcuts. Never stop at locations marked with warning notices. In case anyone from your group goes missing, immediately seek police assistance or make an announcement using the Public Address system.

Free food is provided at langars along the Yatra route. Consume plenty of carbohydrates and follow the recommended food menu for energy. The Holy Cave is situated at around 12,800 feet, so take necessary precautions against high-altitude sickness.

It’s best not to stay overnight at the Holy Cave and to pay attention to the symptoms of altitude sickness. Refrain from consuming alcohol, caffeinated drinks, or smoking. Avoid littering by throwing plastic bottles or other waste in the open.

Respect the environment, as Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Sky are all integral to Lord Shiva. Do not engage in any activity that would pollute the Yatra area. Approach the Holy Lingam with reverence—do not throw coins, notes, or clothes like chunni at it.

In case of an emergency, immediately contact the nearest Camp Director, MRT, or Control Room for assistance. The Amarnath Yatra 2025 is not just a journey—it’s a deeply spiritual experience.
