Amanda Bynes shared a look into how her weight loss journey is going through her latest Instagram story. The What A Girl Wants actress originally opened up about her health battles in March, of 2024 around the same time the explosive series Quiet On Set was released. The documentary brought to light the cruel conditions that child actors like Bynes and Drake Bell had to go through while working under Nickelodeon and the network’s executive producer Dan Schneider.
Bynes chose to not partake in the series as she has decided to return to school to focus on a new career away from the spotlight . Earlier this year, Bynes shared to her Instagram story that she gained over 20 pounds “from being depressed” for months.
She told her fans that she is trying to be more self-aware and get her health back in shape. “I’m doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don’t feel like working out or eating clean,” she said. Bynes said that she is hoping “to get back to 110 pounds” after revealing she weighed 162 pounds at the time.
As months have passed, she seems to be keeping herself on track as she took to the platform to share an Instagram story on November 5 with an update. It also noted that she burned 481/320 calories. Bynes captioned the photo: “Down 6lbs! 154lbs now!” accompanied by a shocked face emoji. Fans are happy to see the former actress making progress, especially after she was placed on a psychiatric hold after a psychotic episode in 2023.
This event came a year after her mother, Lynn Organ , lost conservatorship over Bynes. She’s struggled with her mental health since she starred in the 2006 comedy film She’s The Man. In 2018, she said she developed a drug addiction because of body image issues after the film was released.
