The freshman mended her two bogeys on the front nine with two birdies on Nos. 6 and 7 and then recorded 10-straight pars to end the day tied for eighth. Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio carded a 2-over 74 after the first 18, securing her a share of 12th going into Saturday.

Lauren Nguyen shot 3-over 75 in the first team event of her Aggie career, tied for for 18th after the first round. Mia Nixon and Kynadie Adams rounded out the lineup tied for 31st and 41st, respectively. The Aggies were tied for third with Vanderbilt, while Mississippi State (+3) and Arkansas (+1) held the top two spots.
