Alvin F Dean “Skip”, a long time resident of Queensbury and son of Wilbur and Nina (Bates) Dean, passed away on April 7, 2025, at the Glens Falls Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Skip married Virginia Seeley (Chick) on May 23, 1959, together they raised four children, Alvin Jr., Daniel, Cindy, and Kevin Dean.
Skip worked for many years for the Queensbury Water Department and later he joined O’Conner Construction until his retirement. Skip enjoyed playing his guitar, working on cars, trucks and golf carts. He was a Dale Earnhardt racing fan and in his later years he would spend time on his boat with his family and dog.
Skip is survived by his wife of 66 years; his son, Daniel; and his daughter, Cindy. Skip was predeceased by his in-laws, Ward and Vivian Seeley; his sons, Alvin Jr. and Kevin Dean; and his three sisters, Shirly, Joyce, and Mary Lou.
A celebration of life for Skip will be held on April 26, 2025, at the Queensbury Masonic Lodge, 15 Burke Drive, Queensbury, NY. Burial will be private..
