The Hyderabad police on Friday, December 13, arrested actor Allu Arjun in connection with the death of a woman during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre earlier this month. The actor was taken to Chikkadpally police station. Further details are awaited.

Earlier, the police registered a case against the theatre management, the actor and his security team. It is being said that the police had no prior intimation about the film's team arriving at the premiere. A woman from Dilsukhnagar, Revathi died, while her nine-year-old son sustained critical injuries in a stampede during the premiere screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 5.



The stampede occurred around 10:30 pm as Revathi, her husband, and their two children were leaving the theatre. Following the tragedy, Allu Arjun expressed his condolences, describing the event as “heartbreaking.” In a statement, he extended his sympathies to the victim’s family, assuring them of his support.

"Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I stand committed to extending every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey," he said.
