Allentown Police: Teen surrenders following shots fired incident near 15th and Turner

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A 14-year-old is facing charges after Allentown Police say the teen fired a handgun in the direction of a group of juveniles. Around 3 p.

m. Thursday, officers responded to the area of N. 15th and Turner streets for a gunshot complaint.



Police say witnesses and 911 callers reported several juveniles in the area, with at least one seen discharging a firearm. Investigators say they located shell casings in the area of N. 15th and Newton streets, but no injured persons or property damage was observed.

A review of video surveillance footage in the area allegedly showed one of the juveniles firing a handgun in the direction of two other juveniles that had separated themselves from the group. Detectives say a 14-year-old male is being charged as a juvenile with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and firearms offenses. The teen surrendered to police this afternoon without incident.
