Allegiant Has Just 6 Flights That Arrive After Midnight

Literally six arrivals between November and May.

Unlike most US carriers, Allegiant Air operates a there-and-back network, where pilots and flight attendants return to their base at the end of their shift. This saves on hotels and meals and keeps things much more cost-effective and straightforward. It can also conduct routine maintenance overnight at its bases rather than at outstations, reducing costs and streamlining everything.

Using Cirium Diio to examine every Allegiant flight between November 2024 and May 2025 shows that just one in 1,191 (!) arrivals is scheduled to arrive after midnight, let alone be real red-eye operations. More than half of the routes have never been served by any carrier. Gone: Allegiant's main red-eye service Between May and August 2024, the carrier had one overnight route.

This left Las Vegas at 23:44 and arrived in Orlando Sanford at 07:12+1 . The 1,767 nautical mile (3,273 km) route, which had operated for a few years, was primarily served twice-weekly. As it was so different from Allegiant's other network, perhaps it existed for reasons other than financial, be it moving aircraft between bases, maintenance, or otherwise.

While it may reappear, it is no longer listed in Allegiant's pull-down menu or route map, as shown below. Allegiant's current midnight+ arrivals According to Cirium, Allegiant plans more than 67,148 flights between November and May . A review of every service known as of November 20 shows that just six are scheduled to leave before midnight and arrive the following day.

As of now, the latest arrival is due at the horrendous time of 03:44. While bookable on Allegiant's website, all six flights at the stated times are one-offs. They exist for other reasons, whether because of Thanksgiving or some sporting/musical/other event.

The latest information shows that Allegiant will operate nearly 500 routes, all domestic, between November 2024 and May 2025. The number includes the 44 routes announced on November 19.While it'll obviously change, Allegiant plans to fly to 124 airports in 40 states.

These include Gulf Shores, Alabama, where the carrier will provide the only scheduled service. This development means Allegiant will return to Alabama, having last flown to Huntsville in 2008.The potential antitrust-immunized JV between Allegiant and Viva Aerobus has gone deadly quiet.

It remains to be seen if this is approved and what network development follows beyond the often-stated up to 250 new routes.Where else would you like Allegiant to fly, whether domestically or internationally? Let us know! The following list only concerns flights that depart before midnight. A small number also leave after midnight.

The latter is something that Spirit wants to achieve .

Allegiant's older A319s and A320s do not need to be used as intensively due to their lower ownership costs, offset by higher fuel burn and maintenance requirements. This is quite different from its Boeing 737 MAX 8 200, of which it currently has one . Given its older equipment, three-quarters of flights operate on the more demanded Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This helps with having more demand, increasing ancillary sales (which rely on more traffic volume), and not needing to discount fares too much to increase demand, fares, revenue, and loads..
